In home interview

Last saturday I had my in home interview. It was more like an orientation though. I received a huge binder full of info for the next 8 months! I am a little more intimidated, but I feel better at the same time about this whole thing. The rotarians are very down to earth about what the exchange is going to be like and they don't sugar coat it, which I am very thankful for :)
Merry Christmas everyone!

In home interview

Today I have my in-home interview for the exchange. It's not actually and interview more of an orientation.     I'll let you know how it goes!
I decided to add Italy to my list as well, although I'm not sure of the order anymore. I'll keep you updated!

So Far

As of right now these are my top choices in order:
1: The Czech Republic
2: Thailand (Still hesitant)
3: Denmark

I have changed my mind once again! I decided I am going to wait for the Spanish speaking country until college because I will definitely be able to go to Spain or somewhere in South America later. So I am excluding Peru and still considering Thailand, Denmark, and The Czech Republic. One of my neighbors knows someone who went to India and lived there so I am going to ask her about her experience and maybe consider India (again!).

Spanish

As most of you know I went to a spanish immersion school through 5th grade. I am thinking maybe a Spanish country would be cool. Even though I can speak spanish already I would be completely fluent in all aspects when I come back. And since I already know a lot of Spanish it would be easier to transition. I was thinking Peru. I still like the idea of Denmark though. Leave your comments or vote!

Sorry

Sorry about changing the poll. You have to re-vote!

Thailand

Thailand!! It would be a total immersion experience and I would learn Thai! Or as my dad put it, "squiggly or squiggly" while looking at how to write in Thai. =) Tell me what you think.

Classes

I met with my counselor today and decided that I will be taking Chemistry, English 11, and US History online for Junior year. Yippee! Hopefully its not too hard but at least I don't have to go to night school. I'm starting the the classes ASAP so that I don't have to take them while I am gone.
I found out that there is a Danish exchange student in my photography class. She was really helpful giving me information. And they DON'T speak english to eachother there! Yay! Thats good for me. She also said they eat a lot of potatoes. I like potatoes! =)

Research

I researched the countries in greater detail and I'm thinking of excluding Switzerland. According to Lonely Planet they speak english better than us! One of the reasons I am going is to learn a new language =) So that won't work. I am leaning towards Denmark and India...

New Idea!

I was talking with my parents about where I should go and I came up with the idea of going to Denmark! I think it would be really beautiful and it would be so cool to learn Danish. I can't decide!!!!!

Welcome!

I am going to be an exchange student next year through Rotary International. I will be gone for my Junior year of high school. I am really excited because I will be able to immerse myself in a new culture, learn a third language(I am fluent in Spanish) and travel to a foreign country. I don't think I will realize what I'm doing until I'm in a foreign country thinking to myself, "What have I gotten myself into?" I am planning on blogging the process of deciding where i am going for a year, and my wonderful experience there. (Hopefully) =)
